There are rivets holding the handles on. I need to see if they are sealed so they dont leak....SEVERAL. MINUTES. LATER.I knew the handles would get hot, so I used a pot holder to handle the pot. It cooked the ramen wonderfully. The lid holds in the stream well enough to finish cooking the noodles. I like them wimpy and limp. I had no leakage from the rivets on the handles so my testing comes out with a 'flying colors' passing grade! I am happy with this choice! I'm sure you will be as well! Of course, many things can be cooked in this cute little pot, so it is versatile as well as durable. It is made of aluminum, I believe. Now if you will excuse me, I have some ramen to devour.....
