About
Every cuisine has a pot that changes everything. We make sure you can find it.
"To take curious home cooks on a culinary adventure, so every flavor they've ever loved can find its way back to the table."
Our Story
Hi, I'm Joanna. I left Singapore for the Netherlands in 2009. I know why I left. I was suffocated by who I was supposed to be. I wasn't a success blueprint. I didn't get a first class honours, a government scholarship, a government job, or marry a Singaporean guy and popped out a kid by 29. I was born on the same day as our first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, and as he said on his 80th birthday: Life is a great adventure.
I wanted mine.
But I was homesick.
I had a fancy flourishing career where I traveled often and was in Corporate Strategy at a global Fortune 500. Yet, I remember being in Brussels and wanting nothing more than a simple bowl of ban mian. The kind that cost $3.50 at Top 1 Home Made Noodles on the top floor of Beauty World. Instead I found Babi Pangang, noodle soep, kebab. Never quite that bowl. The one that meant sitting with my mum, dad, and two brothers. The one that meant home.
That feeling is why Captain Cranberry exists.
I wanted to make it possible for anyone, anywhere in the world, to bring back that flavor. The Korean stone pot your grandmother used. The Japanese donabe at the centre of a slow Sunday meal. The gooseneck kettle that makes your morning feel like a ritual. Premium cookware that is fun, innovative, and full of the recipes that make you feel at home, wherever home is.
Every product I make comes from that same place. If you open a Captain Cranberry box, read our comics and think this came from someone's specific, slightly random mind which missed home, you are right.
Every single piece of our cookware has this in mind.

Fun Fact: Why Cranberry?
My mum couldn't pronounce my married Dutch last name, so since the day she was born, she called my daughter Raspberry. My daughter then spent her growing up years telling everyone she was a Raspberry.
That turned into Cranberry, and now, Captain Cranberry.
We wanted a name that felt warm, specific, and a little unexpected. That's us.
