The Old Fashioned, Chilled with Whiskey Stones
The classic, undiluted. An old fashioned is mostly whiskey, so the last thing you want is melting ice thinning it out. Whiskey stones chill the glass and keep every sip at full strength.
Ingredients
- 60ml bourbon or rye whiskey
- 1 sugar cube or 1 teaspoon simple syrup
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
- Orange peel, to garnish
- 3 whiskey stones, frozen
Instructions
- Freeze your whiskey stones for at least 4 hours.
- In a short glass, stir the sugar and bitters with a splash of water until dissolved.
- Add the whiskey and the frozen stones, then stir gently to chill.
- Twist the orange peel over the glass to release its oil, then drop it in.
Tip: Chill the empty glass in the freezer alongside the stones for an even colder pour.
