Cioccolata Calda (Italian Hot Chocolate)
Thick and Decadent
Italian hot chocolate is incredibly thick, rich, and almost pudding-like. Made with real dark chocolate and thickened with cornstarch, this is the drink served in every Italian café during winter.
Ingredients
- 200ml whole milk
- 100g dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Instructions
- Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold milk
- Combine remaining milk, sugar, cocoa, and salt in a saucepan
- Heat and add chocolate until melted
- Add cornstarch mixture and whisk 3-4 minutes until thickened
- Serve warm with whipped cream
